Since 2001, Shedhalle Tübingen has created a forum for contemporary arts in the Shedhalle of the former slaughterhouse. Since then, artists have participated in regional, national and international exhibitions, guest artist stays, art festivals, concerts, workshops and experimental events, as well as other events, and have networked these with the local art scene.
Since February 2016 the Shedhalle was made available for the temporary accommodation of refugees, which in the meantime gave us the opportunity to find and play at new and changing locations in the city and surrounding area for our respective exhibitions and events. The new guests were included as artists in residence in the ongoing or specially initiated projects. At the end of June 2017, a partial re-entry of our Kunstverein into the Shedhalle began. At the end of 2018 the space has to be vacated again for a temporary external use for the next three to four years, whereby the Kunstverein will remain on the Schlachthof site for future exhibition programs. An overview of the previous and current program can be found at www.shedhalle.de.
