GENERATE! deals with current trends in art that are determined by the interdisciplinary use of electronic media or digital technologies. GENERATE! is interested in mutual relations between art, science and technology against their socio-political background. Special attention is given to conceptual works that are dedicated to the reflection on generative processes of development, their conditions and respective algorithmically controlled outputs.

GENERATE! as a programmatic title implies both artistic-technical processes of development and the individual question of the possibilities of being creatively active oneself. The aim is to create a creative and critical discourse framework on the aesthetic, socio-political and economic conditions and effects of media and information technologies of the 21st century. GENERATE! seeks to explore and design ways and forms of aesthetic practice that enable a critical and self-determined participation in these developments.The fifth edition of GENERATE! offers, in addition to the performance program in the slaughterhouse, individual workshops to provide interested parties with tools for their own artistic work. Starting on November 11th, GENERATE! will play at various locations in the city with exhibitions, concerts, installations, lectures and talks.

Tickets for the generate! 2019 programme at Schlachthaus are available via our online shop as well as the Tübingen concept stores Cosita Bonita, style afFAIRe, Peyotl BodyMod, Brett-à-porter, Unikat and Freistil Brauwerk. Due to the low capacity of the Schlachthaus, the number of festival tickets is limited. Potentially remaining tickets may be available at the box office at Schlachthaus on the evenings. The online presale ends on Friday 11/15/2019 at 16:00.

The admission to the events is free, except for the Schlachthaus weekend and “In the Frenzy of Machines or The Right to Be Lazy” by the ITZ at Zimmertheater Tübingen. Tickets for the events at ITZ can be purchased at the theatre box office: www.zimmertheater-tuebingen.de.
